As part of our support to the Draman Foundation, we invited the Gambian Minister of Health, Hon. Dr. Ahmadou Samateh, to come to Spain in mid-January. This opened potential ways for cooperation with the University of Valencia, the Health Directorate of Castilla La Mancha in Toledo, and the Spanish Ministry of Health. One highlight was the visit to his Spanish counterpart, Mr. Salvador Illa. He was accompanied by Mrs. Niania Dabo Touray, founder of the Draman Foundation.

The purpose of the visit was to set-up a strategic dialogue with Spanish institutions and study ways to improve the health coverage in The Gambia, where the government is planning to approve a law enabling universal access to health and improvement of the health system.

Adelante has been providing strategic support to the Draman Foundation since the beginning of 2019. Among the activities performed, we supported its launch and first steps of implementation, we defined strategic objectives, established strategic partnerships and identified potential external funding.

The Draman Foundation was officially launched in April 2019 and is aimed at improving the lives of individuals and communities through the application of digital solution and innovative platforms to 3 main areas: Healthcare, Education and Finance.
